    What Happened

Santiment’s 1-year MVRV data shows both XRP and Dogecoin holders are still underwater. XRP holders sit on an average paper loss of 11.8%, while Dogecoin holders are down 19.3% — a gap of roughly 7.5 percentage points in XRP’s favor.

The past week brought a rebound for both. Dogecoin climbed 12% to reclaim the $0.10 level, while XRP gained 10.4% to reach $1.55. But the fuel behind those moves looks very different.

    Why It Matters

Dogecoin’s bounce was driven largely by whale leveraged long positions in derivatives markets. That is a double-edged sword: leverage amplifies the rally, but it also creates margin-call risk if the price turns.

XRP’s demand, meanwhile, is increasingly physical. Spot XRP ETFs drew about $75.6 million in net inflows over September 22–25, with cumulative inflows of $1.7 billion since their November 2025 launch. ETF flows buy real tokens into custody — no leverage, no liquidation risk. That structural difference is why XRP arguably holds the better hand for principal recovery.

    Key Figures

    • XRP holders’ average paper loss: 11.8% (vs. 19.3% for Dogecoin)
    • Weekly rebound: Dogecoin +12% back above $0.10; XRP +10.4% to $1.55
    • Bitwise Dogecoin ETF: only ~$690,000 inflows over 10 months; final trading day October 14
    • XRP spot ETFs: ~$75.6 million inflows over September 22–25; $1.7 billion cumulative since November 2025

    What to Watch

Three catalysts matter most. First, the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF — the only DOGE ETF — stops trading on October 14, a blunt signal of how thin institutional appetite for Dogecoin has been.

Second, whether XRP’s ETF inflow streak holds. If flows stall or reverse, the recovery case weakens — institutional flow is the key variable.

Third, watch Dogecoin’s whale leverage. A leverage-driven rally unwinds fast when longs get squeezed, so the next price dip is the real test.

The race out of the red may be close on paper, but the deeper contest is between debt-financed momentum and spot institutional demand.

What do you think — does XRP’s ETF-driven demand give it a durable edge, or will Dogecoin’s whale-backed volatility steal the spotlight first?
