ACN posted a decisive Q4 FY2026 beat: EPS of $3.29 on revenue of $18.68 billion, topping consensus of $3.18 and $18.03 billion — and clearing the top of the company’s own guidance range of $17.75–$18.4 billion by roughly $300 million. Shares surged as much as 22–23% intraday, on track for the biggest one-day gain on record, and closed up roughly 16% near $212.

    The headline numbers:

    • Revenue: $18.68B vs ~$18.03B expected (+3.7% beat), +7% in local currency
    • EPS: $3.29 vs $3.18–$3.19 expected (+~3%), up from $3.03 a year ago
    • Bookings: $22.2B in the quarter, book-to-bill of 1.2; full-year bookings a record $84.5B
    • Guidance (FY2027): revenue growth of 3–6% in local currency; EPS of $14.39–$14.81
    • Shareholder returns: record $11.5B in FY2026, up 38%; quarterly dividend raised 5% to $1.71

Bookings were the real story. Accenture signed a quarterly record 141 client bookings of at least $100 million, and managed services bookings hit $12.8 billion at a 1.4 book-to-bill. CEO Julie Sweet framed it as clients coming to Accenture to implement AI rather than being displaced by it, with emerging alliances including Nvidia underpinning the demand.

The caveats are real, though. Management acknowledged the Q4 over-delivery leaned on transient factors — small-deal upticks, faster contract mobilization, one-time federal over-delivery — and the FY2027 guidance midpoint (~$14.60 EPS) sits slightly below consensus. The rally is about expectations being repriced from “structural decline” to “AI beneficiary,” not about accelerating growth: full-year revenue grew just 5% in local currency (3% organic).

What to watch: the Oct. 14 investor day is the next catalyst. If the Q4 backlog converts into sustained organic acceleration, the rerating has room; if FY2027 lands at the low end of the 3–6% range, today’s premium evaporates.

What do you think: is Accenture’s AI-services surge a durable growth engine, or a one-quarter repricing of rock-bottom expectations?
