Nvidia is teaming up with Delta Electronics to develop next-generation autonomous-driving systems, pairing Delta’s automotive power and thermal expertise with Nvidia’s Hyperion and Halos autonomous-driving stack.
What happened
Delta Electronics announced on September 29, 2026 that it will collaborate with Nvidia to develop next-generation autonomous-driving systems. The initiative combines Delta’s automotive energy management, EV powertrain, in-vehicle high-performance computing, and system-integration capabilities with NVIDIA Hyperion and the NVIDIA Halos safety system (per PR Newswire). NVIDIA Hyperion is described as a reference sensor and computing platform for Level 4 autonomous vehicles and robotaxis.
Delta (founded 1971, listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under code 2308) is a provider of power and thermal-management solutions serving data-center infrastructure, microgrids, smart manufacturing, intelligent buildings and electric mobility. Nvidia’s engineering team will support Delta’s development, with the stated goal of expanding engagement with customers and partners.
- Announcement date: September 29, 2026
- The stack: NVIDIA Hyperion + NVIDIA Halos safety system
- The target: Level 4 autonomous vehicles and robotaxis
- Delta’s contributions: automotive energy management, EV powertrain, in-vehicle high-performance computing, systems integration

Why it matters
Nvidia is extending the Hyperion/Halos autonomous-driving platform beyond carmakers and into the supplier ecosystem. Delta’s power/thermal and EV-powertrain expertise addresses real bottlenecks — thermal and energy management are limiting factors in AV compute — and Delta’s existing automotive supply relationships could accelerate commercial adoption.
For investors, this deepens Nvidia’s moat in automotive compute and adds a supplier-path angle to the robotaxi theme. The caveat: no financial terms or customer commitments were disclosed, so treat this as partnership optionality rather than booked revenue.
What to watch
Whether named automaker or robotaxi customers are announced for the Delta/Nvidia stack. Nvidia’s broader Hyperion adoption traction. And Delta’s automotive segment revenue in upcoming quarters — that’s where commercial proof would show up first.

Do you think supplier-side deals like this actually move the needle for Nvidia’s automotive business, or is it just noise until robotaxi customers are named?
